Douglas Eugene Zerfoss (1961-2012)
Douglas Eugene Zerfoss, 51, Acosta, died May 4, 2012, at his home. Born Nov. 15, 1960, in Meyersdale, son of Clarence Eugene Zerfoss, Berlin, and Barbara Ann (Brougher) Riggsby and Thomas O. Riggsby, Madison, Tenn. Survived by daughter Patricia Zerfoss, Antioch, Tenn.; grandson Alex Zerfoss; sisters and brothers: Gail Sears and friend Johnny Young, Madison, Eugene Zerfoss and wife Diane, Acosta, Clifford Zerfoss, Jennerstown; uncle Cary Brougher, Somerset; special friend Laurie Hayes and her son, Nathaniel, Acosta; and best friend Big Jimmy Matthews; also numerous nieces and nephews. Doug is a 1979 graduate of Rutgle High School, he had worked as a mechanic and he enjoyed and used to drive NASCAR. Friends received 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the Haugler-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012.
