Carolyn Jean Tipton (1938-2012)
Carolyn Jean Tipton, 73, Somerset, died June 22, 2012, at Siemon’s Lakeview Manor Estate. Born Nov. 30, 1938, in Greensburg, daughter of Lester and Daisey (Neimiller) Barndt. Preceded in death by parents; husband Wayne Landon Tipton, who died July 17, 2007. Survived by son, Jeffrey Barndt, Uniontown; grandsons: Michael Makay, Bradley Barndt, Matthew Makay, James and Zachary Barndt; great-grandchildren: Kale, Gavin and Farah; and sister Betty Curry, Mount Pleasant. Carolyn is a 1959 graduate of Sewickley Township High School, she worked until her retirement in 1990 with 35 years of service in the dietary departments for the Westmoreland and Somerset hospitals, she was also a member of Friedens Lutheran Church. Friends received 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. The Rev. Edward Devore officiating.
