Agnes Margaurite Short, 79, of Somerset died February 13, 2016 at The Patriot. Born October 9, 1936 in St. Boniface, PA she is the daughter of Wilfred and Agnes (Thomas) Strittmatter.  Preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo Benedict Short who died June 28, 1995, brothers: Regis, Paul, Anthony, James "Buck" and Thomas Strittmatter and sisters: Anna Catherine, and Virginia Strittmatter.  Survived by children: Carol Short of Somerset, Debbie Hill and husband Edward "Barry" of Nags Head, NC, Betty Jane Irvine of Lexington SC, Benedict J. Short married to the former Jodi Meyers of Berlin, Paul W. Short married to the former Lori Fisher of Front Royal, VA, Leo T. Short and fiance Elena Lepley, Robert Short married to the former Hope Barron, and David W. Short all of Somerset, 16 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren; also sisters: Delores Westrick and Bernadette Hadden and husband Arch all of St. Boniface.  Agnes had worked on the Somerset Elections Board, she was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset Volunteer Fire Department and Somerset County Fire Department Auxiliaries., she was on the board of the Tam O'Shanters, and she was a proud 6 blue star grandmother.  Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset where a vigil for the deceased will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.  Funeral mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church.
