Betty Catherine Walters, 93, of Johnstown formerly of Somerset, died July 26, 2016 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.  Born February 5, 1923 in Indiana County, PA she is the daughter of Michael Walter and Rose Mertle (Stiffey) Jarvis.  Preceded in death by her parents, husband Austin Henry Walters, daughter Arlene Williams, 4 grandchildren 1 great grandchild and brother Paul Stiffey.  Survived by children: James A. Walters married to the former Emma Thompson of Somerset, Gene Walters married to the former Sharon Swan of Carlisle, Shirley Erisman and Betty Yon and husband James all of Johnstown, Sandy Johanson of Chambersburg, Austin Walters Jr., Ronald P. Walters, Nancy Bittner and husband Gary, Rick Walters, Wade S. "Steve" Walters married to the former Karen Drummond all of Somerset, and Troy Walters married to the former Tammy Stutzman of Rockwood, also 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.  Betty had attended Faith Lutheran Church.  No viewing or visitation a private service will be held at the convenience of the family with Reverend Ben Mandrick officiating.  Interment Wills Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to Somerset Humane Society PO Box 182, Somerset, PA 15501.
