Reese--Donald Elwood, 98, New Centerville, died June 24, 2016 at The Patriot. Born April 29, 1918, in Somerset son of Jacob G. and Nellie E. (Mognet) Reese. Preceded in death by parents;  son, Allen J. Reese and his wife, Melody. Survived by wife the former Sally Tirko and grandson, Jacob A. Reese and wife, Theresa, Cumberland, MD. Brother of Norma Brugh, New Centerville. Donald worked as a deliveryman for Henry's Furniture in New Centerville. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Life member of the New Centerville Volunteer Fire Department. Member of Messiah Lutheran Church, New Centerville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset. The New Centerville Firemen will hold a service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends will also be received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Messiah Lutheran Church, the Rev. Lee Gable officiating. Interment, New Centerville Union Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the Somerset County Honor Guard. Family suggests contributions to Messiah Lutheran Church or New Centerville Vol. Fire Deparment in memory of Donald.
