Donna Jean Deaner, 74, of Somerset, died October 28, 2017 at her home.  Born March 5, 1943 in Somerset, she is the daughter of Harry Elwood and Nelma Jean (Leaphart) Stern.  Preceded in death by her parents, and brother Edgar Paul Stern. Survived by her husband Ronald Lee Deaner to whom she was married 53 years, daughter Dawn M. Woolston and husband David of Stephens City, VA, grandson Kaleb Woolston and sister Esther Dively and husband George of Friedens, also nephews, Chad Dively and wife Christine of Manassas and Joshua Dively and his daughter Madison of Friedens.  Donna is a 1961 graduate of Somerset High School, she worked as a receptionist for many years for Dr. John White and Dr. Susan Province and later for the former Foodland.  She was an active member of First United Methodist Church where she taught Gleaners S.S. class, was special gifts secretary, church historian, vice chairwoman of church council and was worship committee chairwoman.  Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Reverends Dr. Arthur Gotjen and Jeffrey Popson officiating.  Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.  Contributions may be made to First UMC 149 W.
