Georgia "Fern" Buttermore, 99, of Jennerstown formerly of Somerset, died January 30, 2016 at Somerset Hospice House. Born November 14, 1916 in Somerset, she is the daughter of Elmer and Millie (Bodes) Shaulis. Preceded in death by her parents, and brothers: Bodes and Meade Shaulis. Survived by her children: Elmer Zimmerman and wife Shirley of Wayne, Michigan, and Georgia Thomas and husband William of Jennerstown, grandchildren: Mark Zimmerman, Michael Zimmerman, William Thomas, and Jennie Jamieson, great grandchildren: Chad Zimmerman, Mark Zimmerman Jr., Mason Jamieson, and Gillian Marie Thomas, sister-in-law Pauline Shaulis, and loving niece Melanie Peters and numerous other nieces and nephews. Fern is a graduate of Somerset High School, and attended California State College, she worked until her retirement with JJ Newberry's and Jamesway, she was a member of the Somerset Hospital Auxillary, Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, and the Chamber of Commerce, she was an avid quilter, and loved fishing. Friends received 10:00 a.m.-12 noon Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 12 noon, with Reverend D. Wayne Lasure officiating.
