James William Barndt, 84, of Somerset, died January 15, 2016 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born November 10, 1931 in Indiana, PA, he is the son of Ira Earl and Lucy Pearl (Miller) Barndt. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Lucille Romaine Manges who died November 8, 2003, sisters and brothers: Anna Mae Hochard, Grace Raygor, Emma Catherine "Katie" Barndt, Earl Stewart, Roy , Robert, Charles, and Edward Barndt. Survived by sister and brother: Irene Hart of Ligonier and Ralph Barndt and wife Helen of Somerset, sisters-in-law Ada Barndt and Mona Barndt both of Somerset, nephew and niece John and Sally Barndt of Somerset and many other nieces and nephews. Jim is a US Airforce Korean War Veteran, he worked until his retirement in the maintenance department for Somerset Borough. He enjoyed going for coffee and enjoying conversations with his friends. Friends received 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset where a service will immediately follow at 4 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Arthur Gotjen officiating.
