Margaret Renee Barta, 65, of Friedens, died July 11, 2016 at Somerset Hospital.  Born December 14, 1950 in Coronado, CA she is the daughter of the late George Blair and Doris Eileen (Phillips) Bender.  Survived by her husband George E. Barta to whom she was married 40 years, son Travis Barta and his fiancee Kristan Simpson , and her step daughter Lorrie S. Fisher; also survived by her special cousin Becky Niemiec, and close friend Terry Sleasman.  Margaret is a 1969 graduate of Somerset High School, a graduate of Potomac State College and received her masters from the University of Pittsburgh, she worked until her retirement with 35 years of service in Child Development for the Somerset County Vo-Tech, she was also a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary.  The family would like to give a special thank you to Windber Hospice.  Friends received 9-11 a.m. Monday July 18, 2016 at Friedens Lutheran Church, Friedens where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Ben Mandrick officiating.  Interment Friedens Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society, or Somerset Co.
