Marsha Ann Schmalz-Herman, 64, of Somerset, died April 22, 2016 at her home.  Born November 6, 1951 in Somerset she is the daughter of Earl Kenneth and Ella Nora (Bowlby) Bittner.  Preceded in death by her parents, first husband Donald L. "Don Rodgers" Schmalz, her son Jason Lee Schmalz and sisters Donna Lichty and Ella Rae Boyer Cobert.  Survived by her husband of 25 years Christopher Dean Herman and their son Brandon Earl Herman of Somerset, also survived by her brother Robert Bittner of Somerset.  Marsha is a 1968 graduate of Somerset High School, and nursing school, she worked as an LPN for Somerset Hospital and later as a secretary for Somerset Borough Police Department, she was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, she had been a volunteer for Civil Air Patrol, and Somerset Co. Military Support Group, she also enjoyed making candy.  Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset where a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday with Reverend J.
