Ruth Blanche (Kooser) Shaulis, 90, of Friedens, formerly of Somerset, PA, died December 26, 2016 at Countryside Personal Care Home, Friedens, PA. Born July 1, 1926 in Jefferson Twp. she is the daughter of John Hilton Kooser and Gertrude Caroline (Bell) Kooser-Wagner. Preceded in death by her parents, step-father Claude A. Wagner, and brothers: Wilfred, Clifford, Charles "Cliff", Ray, Virl and Quay Kooser and two infant sisters, also nephews, Ron Kooser and Barry Kooser and nieces Drusilla Graves, and Debbie Carlson. Survived by her nieces and nephews: Patricia Troy, Karen Kooser, John Kooser, Wilfred "Fred" Kooser, Paula Zeigler, and Diane Gold. Ruth worked until her retirement for the former Gilmour Manufacturing, she was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, and was a past member of VFW Post 181 Ladies Auxiliary. Friends received 9 -11 a.m. Wednesday (today) at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Dena M.
