Waltraud Renate "Wally" Pyle, 90, of Rockwood, died September 19, 2016 at Westmont Woods, Johnstown, PA. Born August 23, 1926 in Kassel, Germany she is the daughter of Paul and Martha Stracke. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Dalton William Pyle who died July 26, 2014, son Daune W. Pyle and sisters Gudrun Stracke and Irene Gaedicke. Survived by her daughters Carol J. Pyle of Rockwood, Debra A. Phillippi and husband Herb of Johnstown, and Sharon L. Versweyveld and husband Matthew of Glendale, CA; also grandchildren Amy Pelton of Lompoke, CA and Emily Phillippi and fiance Adam Marquis of Washington D.C. Wally graduated high school in Germany, she had worked as a cook for 10 years for Rockwood High School, and was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, she loved cooking and baking, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Friends received 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Messiah Lutheran Church, New Centerville where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Lee Gable officiating. Interment Samuels Cemetery.
