Myra L. "Dutch" Hemminger, 87, of Somerset, died March 2, 2024 at Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin. Born July 16, 1936 in Somerset, she is the daughter of Charles Milton and Pearl G. (Bittner) Long. Preceded in death by her parents, step-son Barry Hemminger and sister Amelia Glessner. Survived by her husband Jay William Hemminger to whom she was married 38 years, daughter Barbara Edmonson and husband Daniel of Dallas, TX, step-children, Debbie Koontz and husband Gary, and Larry Hemminger all of Somerset, grandson Noah Edmonson, step-grandchildren, Heather Mostoller and husband Justin, Andrew Koontz, Adam Hemminger and wife Jennifer, Brett Hemminger and wife Breezy, and Drew Hemminger and wife Sarah, 8 step-great-grandchildren, 1 step-great-great-granddaughter, and brother Charles M. Long Jr. and wife Cathy of Scottdale, PA. Myra was a graduate of Somerset High School, she was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxillary, Chickentown Gas& Steam Show, and was assistant treasure for the Somerset County Fair. Friends received 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday with Vicar Josh Spangler officiating.
