Thomas Frank Qualters

Thomas Frank Qualters, 88, of Somerset, died February 15, 2024 at The Patriot. Born April 1, 1935 in McKeesport he is the son of Frank J. and Esther (Rudeen) Qualters. Preceded in death by parents, brother John E. Qualters, and daughter-in-law Cathy Qualters. Survived by his wife the former Beverly Ann Ritchey to whom he was married 68 years, children, Kimberly Stiffler and husband Robert Jr. of Somerset, Thomas Qualters Jr. of Berlin, Cindy Black and husband Jeff, Lisa Lauer and husband Scott, and Lori Johnson and husband Steve all of Somerset, grandchildren: Jessica Howe, Shawn and Ian Stiffler, Jeremiah Black, Lindsey Sharbaugh, Mallory Black, Sara Lauer, and Kelsey Johnson, and 14 great-grandchildren. Tom was a graduate of McKeesport High School, after high school he was signed by the Philadelphia Phillies and played professional baseball for 10 years, he worked until his retirement as a regional law enforcement officer for the PA Fish Commission. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, was a Pittsburgh Pirate Alumni, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching baseball. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset. A funeral mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset, with Father Angelo Patti Celebrant. Committal Listie Catholic Cemetery.
