Alan Stern Obituary

Alan B. Stern, 58, of Friedens, died March 25, 2018 at his home. Born  May 20, 1959 in Fort Knox, KY, he is the son of Benjamin B. Jr.  and Lois A. (Kimmel) Stern.  Preceded in death by his father, and father-in-law Leonard Keyser.  Survived by his mother of Friedens, wife the former Sandra J. Keyser to whom he was married 23 years, son, Kyle Stern at home, sister Debra Eberhardt and husband Mark of Gibsonia, nieces and nephew, Ashley, Heidi, and Kurt Eberhardt, and mother-in-law Thelma Keyser of Boswell. Alan was a 1977 graduate of Somerset High School, and a graduate of Lumber Grading School in Memphis, he worked for Stern Building Supply and later as the store manager for SDC Building Center with 36 years of service.  He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church.  Alan was a loving father and husband and enjoyed all of his family and friends.  Friends received 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Friedens Lutheran Church, Friedens, and one hour prior to the service at the church which will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Reverend Doug Knupp officiating.  Contributions may be made to Friedens Lutheran Church Memorial Fund 131 S.
