Alice Wirick Obituary

Alice Louise "Allou" Powell- Wirick, 91, of Davidsville, formerly of Somerset, died January 18, 2020 at Laurel View Village, Davidsville. Born July 25, 1928 in Johnstown. She is the daughter of Harry A. and Alice C. (Craig) Ellis. Preceded in death by her parents, first husband Dean B. Powell, second husband Rev. Melroy Melvin Wirick and sister Nancy Rager-Butler. Survived by her children: Linda J. Hawthorne and husband Leslie of Forest, Va, Mary Alice Emert and husband David of Somerset, Deana L. Erickson and husband Mark of DuBois, Pa, David Powell and wife Jodi of Stoney Creek, N.C, and Nancy Emert and husband Paul of Stoystown, 16 grand children and 31 great-grand children. Alice was a graduate of Shade High School and the Conemaugh School of Nursing. She worked as a R.N. Supervisor at the Somerset State Hospital. Alice was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Somerset and Daughters of The American Revolution. Friends received 5 - 7 Monday, January 20 at the Hauger Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset and 1 hour prior to the service at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Somerset, Pa on Tuesday at 11 A.M with Reverend Tony Meyers officiating. Private interment, Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown, Pa. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, Pa 15963.
