Dale Johnson Baumgardner, 78, of Friedens, PA, died October 1, 2017 at Siemon's Lakeview Manor, Somerset. Born July 13, 1939 in Somerset, he is the son of George Jennings and Hazel Gertrude (Johnson) Baumgardner.  Preceded in death by his parents, brother George E. Baumgardner and two infant twin sisters Jean and Jane.  Survived by his wife the former Georgia Ann Shaffer to whom he was married 61 years, sons, Dale Baumgardner Jr. married to the former Jane Rhodamer of Friedens, Brian Baumgardner married to the former Clydette Boyer of Stoystown, and Bradley Baumgardner married to the former Lee Wiley of Berlin, also grandchildren, Nicole Baumgardner, Nathan Baumgardner and wife Cassandra, Briana, Bella and Ava Baumgardner and great-grandsons, Dakota, David and Zander, also sisters and brothers Shirley Claar and husband William of Holidaysburg, Gerald Baumgardner and wife Janice of Somerset, Charlotte Aungst and husband Stephen of Duncansville, and Charles Baumgardner and wife Della of Shanksville.  Dale is a graduate of Somerset High School, he worked until his retirement as a mechanic for PBS Coal, he was also owner and operator for many years of Baumgardner's Garage in Friedens, he was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Stoystown Lions where he was past president, FOE Aerie 1801, and New Baltmore Sportsman's Club. Dale was also caretaker for many years of Friedens Cemetery.  Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset where a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday with Reverend Edward DeVore officiating.  Interment St. John's Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn.  www.haugerzeigler.com
