David William Stanczyk, 72, of Long Beach, CA, formerly of Somerset, died May 16, 2018. Born January 23, 1946 in Somerset, he is the son of Walter and Helen (Borek) Stanczyk Sr. Preceded in death by his parents, son Jake Stanczyk, brothers; John and James Stanczyk, and sisters; Sophia Kenemore, Helen Culp, and Elizabeth "Liz" Stanczyk. Survived by his children; A. Jolene Stanczyk of Long Beach, Rhonda Kimmel and husband Doug of Nunn, CO, Vickie Shaulis and husband Greg of Champion, also 9 grandchildren, including Yeshua and Jahseiah, and brothers and sisters; Mary Pero, Stanley Stanczyk both of Somerset, Walter Stanczyk of Lima, OH, Ruth Ankeny of Fredricksburg, VA, Alice Mankie of New Alexandria, Daniel Stanczyk and wife Kay of York, and Esther Phillippi of Somerset. David was a 1964 graduate of Somerset High School, he was a US Navy Veteran (Retired) serving in Vietnam. Friends received 9-10 a.m Saturday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset where a service will immediately follow at 10 a.m. with the Somerset County Honor Guard officiating.
