Donald Slickerman Obituary

Donald Ray Slickerman, 81, of Stoystown, died April 12, 2019 at his home. Born August 6, 1937 in Somerset, he is the son of Ellen J. (Slickerman) Walbush. Preceded in death by his mother, first wife the former Arbutus M. "Boots" Kelly who died November 7, 2000, and grandson Derrick Weimer. Survived by his second wife the former Connie Mutz to whom he was married 17 years, children: Pamela L. Morocco and husband John of Somerset, Donald W. Slickerman, Garth R. Slickerman and wife Bonnie all of Stoystown, Kelly S. Awtey and husband Brian of Jenners, William Geisweidt and wife Kathy, and Tammy Geisweidt of Stoystown, grandchildren: Mickey Morocco, Amanda Babb, Roslyn Pugh, Joshua Eugene Slickerman, Jessica Camarote, Jeremy Slickerman, Devon Weimer, Taylor Awtey, Jordan Awtey, Hunter, Brandon, and Tiffany Geisweidt, Emily and Dalton, 12 great-grandchildren, also half sister and brother: Jane Mitchell, and Thomas K. Walbush and wife Connie. Don was a 1956 graduate of Somerset High School, and a US Air Force Veteran, he owned and operated Slickerman Welding until his retirement. He was a member of Tall Pines Hunting Club, Stoystown American Legion, attended Reading Grace Brethren Church, and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing, collecting tractors, and spending time with his great-grandchildren. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Reverend Larry Weigle officiating.
