Doris Elizabeth Schimpf

Doris Elizabeth Schimpf, 92, of Somerset, joined her Lord and family in Heaven on February 11, 2018 at The Patriot. Born March 20, 1925, in McKeesport PA, she is the daughter of the late Leo Harold and Anna  Louise (Swenson) Bergstrom, who immigrated to the United States from Pitea, Sweden in 1924. In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, the late Reverend Herbert E. Schimpf, her infant sister Nana Sofia Bergstrom, brothers, Alf and Raymond Bergstrom, infant daughter Carla, and grandson Jason Miller. Survived by her children, Janet (Robert) Milller, Somerset, Jeanne Anderson of Arizona, Jerry (Sue) Schimpf of Somerset, and Jay (Kay) Schimpf of Texas, grandchildren, Bobbi Jo (Matt Slezak)Allison, Andrew (Angie) Miller, Melanie (Eric Pacpac) Walker, Jill (Matt Robinson) Walker, Amy (Tel) Perry, Jay (Lindsey) Schimpf J.R., Melissa (Tom) Russell, Timothy, Colin and Jon (Bethann) Rice, great granchildren, Hope and Drew Miller, Jon and Emily Allison, Tristan Perry, Reese and Harley Robinson, Kia Pacpaco, Selah, Titus and Sadie Schimpf and Jacob Rice. Doris is a 1945 graduate of McKeesport High School, she worked for 12 years as a teachers aide for Maple Ridge Elementary, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, fishing, boating, quilting and she as extremely active her church community at Pike Run Church of the Brethren . Friends received from 10-11 a.m. Saturday March 31st at the Pike Ruth Church of the Brethren where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Christopher Forry officiating. .
