Ellen G. (Graham) Hottle

Ellen Hottle, 84, of Somerset, was welcomed by God into his eternal home on July 3, 2019 at Somerset Hospice House. Born October 15, 1934, in Somerset, she is the daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Dietz) Graham. Ellen is survived and will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 66 years, Dean M. Hottle, five sons and spouses, Dean II and Judy, Ridgefield, Connecticut; Bruce and Karen, Somerset; Bryan and Debbie, Somerset; Robert and Lori, Great Falls, Va; Graham and Tammy, Berlin; grandchildren Dean Hottle III and wife Jillian, Jennifer Retter, Anne and husband Timothy Cassidy, Danielle and husband Marc Englander, Megan Hottle, Heather and husband Michael Robbins, Bryan Hottle II, Ashley Hottle and husband Ryan Ellis, Erin Hottle and husband Patrick Ayers, Nichole Hottle, Tara and husband Kevin Miller, Trisha Hottle; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Williams, Jane Graham, Alice and husband Henry Lague, Mary and husband Ken Shatwell; brother, Albert and wife Diane Graham; in-laws, Norma and Jess Bacon, Williard and Logan Hottle and many nieces and nephews. Ellen was a lifetime member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. She was a 1952 graduate of Somerset High School and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in business education, teaching at Shanksville-Stonycreek School for many years. Ellen was a committed volunteer to many organizations. She was a board member of the Children's Aid Home, member and past president of the Somerset Welfare League and a member of the Eastern Star. For many years, Ellen managed the dried corn and apple demonstration at the annual Mountain Craft Days for the Somerset Historical Society. The family of Ellen Hottle would like to express their gratitude to Somerset Hospital, In Touch Hospice House and the long time caregivers, Linda Bassett and Tammy Bittner, for their compassionate care. Friends will be received on Monday, July 8, 2019, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 494 West Main Street, Somerset, PA. and at 12:00 noon until the time of service, 1:00 pm, on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 239 W Church Street, Somerset, PA with Reverends Arnold McFarland and Richard Helsel officiating. Interment Husband Cemetery.
