BARNETT----Ida Mae, 101, Somerset, died February 2, 2018, at Siemon’s Lakeview Manor Estates. Born January 2, 1917, in Acosta, daughter of Preston Clifford and Della Eleanor (Brendle) Ogline. Preceded in death by parents; husband, James S., whom she married September 4, 1939; sisters, Pauline Zimmerman and Frieda Baker; brother, Eugene Ogline and granddaughter, Karen Marteeny. Survived by children, Dr. Albert P. Barnett and wife Kathy (Bundy), Boswell; Connie Marteeny and husband, William, Friedens; James R. and wife, Susan (Stanford), Strasburg; Susanne and husband, George Dull, Oakmont; and Deborah and husband, Terry Debo, Southlake, TX; grandchildren, Jennifer (Barnett) Kimmel; Kimberly Barnett; Mark Marteeny; Christina (Barnett) Myers; Jason Barnett; and Jocelyn (Barnett) Conlon. Also survived by 12 great-grandchildren. Ida was a 1935 graduate of Somerset High School and a 1938 graduate of West Penn School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse at Somerset Community Hospital and worked at Somerset Area School District as a school nurse. She was a member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church. She was also involved with the Sipesville PTA, Wheelers and Dealers Square Dance Club and Somerset Registered Nurses Association. She enjoyed quilting and volunteering with Meals of Wheels. She enjoyed preparing and taking meals to shut-ins. She assisted with funeral dinners at Christ Casebeer Church and was active in the Friendly Crusaders Sunday school class. She loved gardening and was a member of the Somerset Garden Club and she was also a member of the 7th Society of Farm Women. Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday February 9, 2018 at Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, with Rev. Robert Foster officiating. Interment, church cemetery.
