John Richard Fisher 83 of Sipesville went to his heavenly home surrounded by his family on December 27th, 2017 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born December 1st 1934 in Somerset the son of John Harold and Lula Mae (Stahl) Fisher. Preceded in death by parents, sister Goldie M. Shaffer, Lois E. Zerfoss, Emily E. Fisher and Nora G. Close; brothers Harold, Samuel D., and Wilbur Fisher. Survived by wife the former Janet Darr to whom he was married 58 years, children Barbara and husband Bruce Younkin of Delaware, OH and Beverly and husband Dale Sarver of Meyersdale. Grandchildren Zachariah Younkin and wife Grace of Delaware, OH; Rebekah Younkin of Winter Haven, FL; Joshua Sarver and friend Tesla Dodson of Pittsburgh; Caleb Sarver of Johnstown; and Andrew Sarver of Meyersdale. Great grandson Elliot Younkin. Sister Doris M. Friese and husband Cecil of Chambersburg; Genevive Hoffman of Somerset. James H Fisher and wife Nancy of Jennerstown. Eldin G. Fisher of Uniontown. John attended Somerset High School. He worked in sales at Beckwith Machinery. Member of Somerset Lodge F&AM #358 Somerset, Jaffa Temple, Altoona Shrine and 32nd Degree. Life Member of Sipesville Fire Department. Member of Sipesville Church of the Brethren. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, and a Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 pm on Friday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Somerset and again from 2 pm until time of funeral service at 3 pm Saturday at Sipesville Church of the Brethren with Pastor Cecil Lohr officiating.
