Joseph John Polakoski, 90, of Somerset, died November 21, 2017 at Somerset Hospice House, Somerset. Born June 10, 1927 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he is the son of Michael and Antonia (Bugdanski) Polakoski.  Preceded in death by his parents, wife the former Josephine Mary Barbera who died June 23, 2005, grandson Patrick James Polakoski, sisters: Felia Savage, Sophi DuCote, and Stella Wargo; brothers: , Bernard and Stephen Polakoski.  Survived by his children: Michael Polakoski married to the former Amy Leazier, Patrick Polakoski all of Somerset, Bernardette Hubbs and husband Stephen of Newark, DE, Maria Polakoski and husband C. Wayne Davis of Darnestown, MD, Anne Polakoski and husband Brian Zeigler, John Polakoski married to the former Dinah Steyer, Virginia Brant and husband Mark, Verna Carberry and husband Jeffrey all of Somerset, Natale Aust and husband Douglas of Friedens, Joseph Polakoski married to the former Magdala Ulysses of Dobbs Ferry, NY, and Therese Polakoski and husband Dale Trozzo of Pittsburgh, 18 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, and brother John Polakoski of Florida.  Joe is a US Navy Veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific Theatre, he worked as a PA State Trooper, for Coal Miners Casualty and lastly as a Para Legal for Barbera Clapper Beener Rullo and Melvin Law Firm where he retired in 2015.  He was also a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, and a life member of VFW.  Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, funeral mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset, with Fr. Daniel J. O'Neill Celebrant.  Committal Somerset County Memorial Park.  A vigil for the deceased will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
