Ray Baker Obituary

Ray Baker, 88, of Somerset, died April 23, 2018 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. He was born June 14, 1929 in Somerset, and is the son of Paul Henry and Marie Kathryn (Swauger) Baker. Preceded in death by his parents, wife the former Rosetta Mae "Rose" Leazier who died July 27, 2011, sisters; Anna Grace Miller, Ida Heinig, Mary Gilbert, Goldie Shaulis, Naomi Hetrick, and Betty Livengood, and brothers Oran and Leroy Baker. Survived by his daughters; Sheila Reffner and husband Glenn of Purcellville, VA, and Michele Cameron and husband Gary of Somerset, also granddaughters; Stacy Stambaugh and husband Jennings of Lovettesville, VA, Mya and Maelin Cameron of Somerset, and great-grandsons; Jennings Elijah, and Samuel Moose Stambaugh. Ray is a US Army and Navy Veteran of Korea, he worked until his retirement as a foreman for Eagle Concrete, he was a member of VFW Post 554 and St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Somerset. Friends received 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Saturday May 5, 2018 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend J. Matthew Deal officiating. Interment Husband Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Disabled American Veterans.
