Robert Paul Jasper

Robert Paul Jasper, 79, of Somerset, died May 27, 2018 at Somerset Hospice House.  Born March 25, 1939 in Johnstown; he is the son of Conrad and Mary (Popavich) Jasper.  Preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Johnny and James Jasper.  Survived by his daughter Cynthia Jasper Vitters of Arlington, VA, grandchildren, William "Liam" and Anagrace Vitters,  sister Mary Ann Swank of Pittsburgh, PA, and brother Ronald W. Jasper of Valparaiso, IN, also close friend Joyce Kitting of Shanksville.  Bob worked until his retirement as a grocery store manager for over 35 years for the former Thorofare; as well as, Foodland, and later in maintenance for Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was a member. He loved working in his yard and helped many around town with theirs.  Friends received 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset.  A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset, with Reverend Dr. Arthur Gotjen officiating.
