Robert Gene Knupp, 88, of Somerset, died January 24, 2019 at Somerset Hospital. Born January 12, 1931 in Somerset, he is the son of Charles Ray and Marian Elizabeth (Barclay) Knupp. Preceded in death by his parents, wife the former Nadine Ankney who died April 18, 2008, and brother Jay W. Knupp. Survived by his son Kirk R. Knupp of Somerset. Bob was a graduate of Somerset High School, he was a US Air Force Veteran of Korea, he worked until his retirement as a clerk for the US Postal Service, he was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 181, VFW Post 554, and a 61 year member of IOOF Lodge 438. Friends received 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, and 10-11 a.m. Monday at Bethany United Methodist Church, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Barry K. Ritenour officiating. Interment Bethany Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Bethany UMC 570 W. Bakersville Edie Rd. Somerset, PA 15501. or Somerset Co. Honor Guard 139 W.
