William Andrew Benning

William Andrew Benning, 70, of Garrett, died December 27, 2019 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born July 14, 1949 in Fairhope, he is the son of Merle Eugene and Bertha Marie (Mull) Benning. Preceded in death by his parents, and brothers; Richard, Ernest and Donald Benning. Survived by his wife the former Sandra L. Lake to whom he was married 19 years, children; Lori Ann Malack and husband Daniel of Ammissville, VA, and William A. Benning Jr. of Arizona, step-daughters; Rhonda Sue Kimmel and husband Douglas of Nunn, CO, and Vickie Lee Shaulis and husband Gregory of Champion, grandchildren; Daniel Jr., Edmund, Andrew, Nathan, Christina, Caleb, William III, and Taylor, also sisters and brothers; Darlene F. Maule of Rockwood, Earl C. Benning and wife Gayle of St. Paul, Gary D. Benning of Rockwood, and Bertha Watson of Berlin. Bill was a 1967 graduate of Rockwood High School, he was a US Army Veteran Retired of Vietnam and Desert Storm where he was a map and terrain expert, he enjoyed many hobbies and was considered a "Jack of all Trades" by his friends and family. Friends received 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Barry K. Ritenour officiating.
