William Ray Smith

William Ray Smith, 74, of Somerset, died February 22, 2019 at Somerset Hospice House.  Born April 6, 1944 in Gray, he is the son of Charles Albert and Dorothy Elizabeth (Leister) Smith.  Preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley Miller, and brothers, John, James, and Dean Robert Smith.  Survived by his wife the former Ruth Elaine Ream to whom he was married 54 years, children: Kimi Mostoller and husband Kevin of Friedens, David Smith married to the former Melissa Beech of Shanksville, Jeffrey Smith of Jenners, Gary Smith married to the former Jolene Tressler, and Sondra Smith-Wagner and husband Benjamin all of Friedens, grandchildren: Christopher, Kyle, Cori, Aaron, Zach, Lexie, Gage, Gracyn, and Garrett, great-grandsons: Liam and Elijah, and sister Dorothy Miller and husband Dale of Sipesville.  Bill was a 1962 graduate of Somerset High School, he worked as a coal miner and later as a welder for Fleetwood Folding Trailers where he retired, he loved working on MOPAR cars, and enjoyed the outdoors and watching wildlife.  Friends received 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset and 10-11 a.m. Monday at Somerset Alliance Church where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Scott Ream officiating.
