Ada Pauline Barndt, 93, of Somerset, died November 12, 2023 at Somerset Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. Born April 9, 1930 in Somerset, she is the daughter of Taylor Tissue and Victoria Emma (Ream) Lowry. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy Eugene Barndt, son-in-law Mere "Butch" Mostoller, grandsons, Justin and Jarad Chappue, brothers: Taylor Jr., James, Robert, Jack and John Lowry and sister Betty Lowry. Survived by her daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Mostoller and Patricia D. Chappue both of Somerset, grandchildren, Rachael Mostoller, Greta Stahl and husband Kermit, and great-granddaughters, Paige Ohler and husband Forrest, and Tessa Stahl. She was one of eleven children, and survived by siblings Charles Lowry and wife Anne, Frank Lowry and wife Debbie, Mary Alice Chambers, Vicki Clark and husband Doug, also sisters-in-law, Nell Lowry, Twila Lowry Irene Hart, and Mona Barndt, and brothers-in-law, Ralph Barndt and wife Helen, and many nieces and nephews. Ada was a 1948 graduate of Somerset High School, she worked until her retirement for Acme Supermarkets. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ada was a friend to everyone she met. She was also a active member of Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ in Gray, and the church was a huge part of her life. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Somerset Healthcare & Rehab, and Viaquest Hospice. No viewing or visitation, a graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Edie Cemetery, Edie Road, Somerset, with Reverend Dr. James Stobaugh officiating.
