Albert Joseph "Joe" Kelly, 83, of Somerset, died November 11, 2022 at Paramount Senior Living, Mars, PA. Born March 12, 1939 in Port Allegany, he is the son of Joseph C. and Mildred (Schwiekart) Kelly. Preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kimberly Lai, and brother Harry Kelly. Survived by his wife the former Lana Jo Latta to whom he was married 59 years, children: Kent Kelly and wife Dene of Aurora, CO, Heather Kelly of Jeannette, and Laura Corll of Bradford Woods, son-in-law Chris Lai of Edwards, CO, grandchildren: Josh, Sam, Grace and Grant, and sisters and brothers: Judy Soegard and husband Donald, Patricia Starr, Linda Hardes, Edward Kelly and wife Nancy, and Robert Kelly and wife Sandy. Joe was a graduate of Port Allegany High School, and attended Alfred University. He retired as a Pennsylvania State Trooper and later worked for Rockwood Insurance. He was a member of St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, and enjoyed football., and coaching Pee-Wee Football. Friends received 10-11 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m with Father William Carpenter officiating.
