Albert Barnett Obituary

Dr. Albert Preston Barnett, 81, of Boswell, died March 25, 2021 at his home. Born February 6, 1940 in Somerset he is the son of the late James S. and Ida Mae (Ogline) Barnett. Survived by his wife the former Kathleen L. Bundy to whom he was married 53 years, daughters; Jennifer Barnett Kimmel and husband Daniel and Kimberly Barnett all of Boswell, grandchildren Mary and Justin Kimmel, also survived by his siblings: Constance Marteeny and husband William of Friedens, Susanne Dull and husband George of Oakmont, Deborah Barnett and husband Terry Debo of Southlake, TX, and James Barnett and wife Susan of Strasburg. Albert was a 1958 graduate of Somerset High School, a 1962 graduate in Pre-Veterinary from Penn State University, and received his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 1964. He worked as a self-employeed veterinarian for over 50 years. Albert was a member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, Somerset Rotary Club where he was a Paul Harris Felllow, Sipesville Volunteer Fire Department, PA Farm Bureau, Somerset County Beef Producers, Penn State Alumni Assn., Penn State Armsby Honor Society, Nittany Lion Club, Somerset County Horse Pullers, and Veterinary for Alaskan Iditarod. He loved Penn State Football, gardening, bee keeping, his apple orchard, and studying WWII History. No viewing or visitation, a celebration of Albert's life will be held at a later date.
