Alice Bowers Obituary

Alice Malissa Bowers, 79, of Somerset, died August 1, 2021 at Somerset Hospice House.  Born March 23, 1942 in Acosta, PA  She is the daughter of Mario David and Santina Octavia (Pincheri) Betta.  Preceded in death by her parents, husband William Lon Bowers who died September 14, 2005, and brother Mario J. Betta Jr.  and sisters; Lydia Peiffer, and Inez Pero. Survived by her children; Heidi Sembower and husband Brian, and William Bowers II married to the former Deanna Williams all of Somerset, she was a beloved Grammy to her grandchildren: Hannah Sembower, William "Billy" Bowers III, and Brock Bowers all of Somerset, also brothers and sister: Guiseppe "Joe" Betta and wife Pam, Virginia Spitler, and Aldo Betta and wife Arlene all of Somerset, and many nieces and nephews.  Alice was a 1960 graduate of Somerset High School, she worked until her retirement as a seamstress for Coleman Company/Fleetwood Folding Trailers, she also worked for many years as an election official. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, TOPS, FOE Auxillary, and New Baltimore Sportman's  Alice loved going to the casino, gambling at the various clubs, and enjoyed her never ending scratch off tickets.  Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset.  A funeral mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with Father Angelo Patti Celebrant.  Committal Somerset County Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers Alice "Grammy" would want you to buy yourself a lottery ticket.
