Angelo J. Maragioglio, age 84, of Denver, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21st 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the devoted husband to the love of his life, Lorraine (Dirienzo) for 40 years, and a loving father to Lisa Gross and her husband Kevin, and to Bennett Mayer, William Mayer, and his wife Michele Rovinsky. He was a cherished grandfather to Eric (Kaylee), Ryan, Alex (Sam), Amanda (Ian), Andrew (Jenn), Ashley (Steve), Anthony, Aidan, and Isabel.
Born on March 11, 1941, in Islip, NY, Angelo was the son of the late Rosa (Anzaldi) and Baldassare Maragioglio.
Angelo was the youngest of 13 siblings, all of whom preceded him in death: Angelina Sciulara, Maurice, Joseph, Calogero (Charlie), Marianna, Anthony, Marion Chapman, Lena Ripo, Ida Rigby, Annie Potenziano, Settimo (Sam), Sedoro (Izzy), and Sadie. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Angelo was widely respected for his lifelong work as a diesel mechanic, having worked at Dutchman’s Truck Service, Freightliner Trucking Co., and J. Roy Wise Inc. In his spare time, he was a passionate collector of gas and steam engines and took great pride in restoring antique vehicles, including a 1926 chain driven Mack AB truck a 1955 Thunderbird, and a 1950 Cushman Eagle. Angelo was a regular vendor at the Hershey Car Show, Steam & Gasoline Engine Shows, and antique truck shows. His favorite was the Marmon Truck. Angelo lived by the values of kindness, compassion, and humility. Known for his quiet nature, and attentive listening, he consistently placed the needs and feelings of others before his own. He was, in every sense, a true gentleman. Angelo was a faithful parishioner of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ephrata, PA.
