Arlene Josephine Hauger

Arlene J. (Cornell) Hauger, 86, formerly of Somerset, passed away peacefully in her Palmyra home on September 13, 2021. Born January 7, 1935 she was the only daughter of the late Lewis and Dolly (Zanoni) Cornell. Arlene was a 1952 graduate of Adams Township High School then attended Hammonds Beauty School in Johnstown, PA. She worked as a stylist in several different salons before owning her own shop. The ability to talk to anyone allowed Arlene to also be successful as a Tupperware, Home Interiors, Studio Girl Jewelry and Avon sales person through the years. Arlene is preceded in death by her husband Dwain E. Hauger, and brothers Richard and Robert Cornell. She will be dearly missed by her two daughters Cheri Yohe and Timothy of Etters, Diana Perry and Wayne of Lebanon as well as grandchildren Alexander Yohe (Amy) and McKenna Yohe. She will forever be remembered for her outgoing personality, willingness to help and volunteer anywhere she was needed, dedication to her faith, love of Christmas, angels, and devotion to her family. Arlene loved playing cards and board games, spending many hours doing so with family and friends. Arlene was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Bakersville, and the Ladies Auxiliary. She became known for her homemade stuffing, soup and pies in the church and will always be remembered for sharing whatever she had even if you were a stranger. Making sure no one "went without" was incredibly important to her. Visitation will take place Friday, September 24 from 7:00-9:00pm at the Hauger - Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset. A second visitation will be held Saturday, September 25 from 11:00am-12:00pm at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Bakersville, PA where a service will immediately follow. Interment Bakersville Cemetery.
