Barry Wayne Gardner, 74, of Somerset, PA, died August 22, 2021 at James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona, PA. Born August 10, 1947 in Somerset, he is the son of George Adam Gardner and Laura Jane (Sullivan) Wilders. Preceded in death by his parents, and brother Homer E. Gardner Sr. Survived by his children; Barry W. Gardner II and wife Heather of Hooversville, Christian S. Walters and husband Stephen of Somerset, and Joshua W. Gardner of Alabama, also 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, and sisters Deloris J. Shumaker and husband Abe of Somerset, Kay F. Moravecz and husband Frank of Boswell, Georgia A. Marple and husband George of Friedens, Margaret L. Mayhugh and husband Harry of Meyersdale and Gail O. Sipe and husband Robert of Somerset. Barry was a US Army Veteran of Vietnam, he worked until his retirement as a carpenter, he was a member of Jenner Rod & Gun Club, a life member of VFW, and loved hunting and fishing. No viewing or visitation, a private service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Somerset County Honor Guard 130 W.
