Bridget Berti Obituary

Bridget Anne Berti, 56, of Friedens, passed away July 18, 2019. She was born Jan. 1, 1963 in Johnstown. She is the daughter of Robert Lichtenfels and the late Harriet J. (Ewt) Lichtenfels who died in 2008. She is survived by her loving and adoring husband of 38 years Glenn Berti of Friedens; daughter Genna married to Matthew Smith of Meyersdale; grandchildren, Xander Salyer and Kaydence Smith, and fur-children Willow, Layla, Frazier, Abbey, Muffin and Roxy. Also survived by sister, Belinda, married to Ray Cunningham Sr. of Florida; brothers-in-laws, Roger (Stacy) Berti, Friedens, and Tom (Lisa) Berti, Somerset; nephews, Ray (Kelly) Cunningham Jr, Florida, and James (Mindie) Cunningham, Seward; niece Carrie (Rick) Meades, Ohio, numerous great nephews and nieces., special aunt Ada Younkin, Somerset, to whom she was very close, cousin-like-a-brother Michael (Kelly) Younkin, aunt Carol (Jim) Weber of Las Vegas, Nevada, uncle George (Barb) Ewt of New Florence, and she was best friends to Jane Wasson, Margie Kelly, Linda Pontorero, Vickie Ogline and Josette Mickey. Bridget has many special numerous friends and family (to0 many to mention) who became a part of her life and she enjoyed every minute spending time with them - especially the barn gang. She loved going on horse trips with Jane and Margie and she loved her family, grandchildren, horses, dogs and cats. She was a member of the Sheriff's Mounted Posse of Somerset County and she retired from the Daily American Media in February. Bridget battled ovarian cancer for seven years and never gave up fighting. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, The Rev. Nila Cogan officiating. Bridget preferred comfortable clothing and the family welcomes people to wear casual clothing to the funeral home.
