C. Daniel Riggs

C. Daniel Riggs, 69, of Friedens, died February 23, 2022 at UPMC Mercy Hospital Pittsburgh. Born June 16, 1952 in Somerset, he is the son of Sidney W. and Alberta M. (Zeltner) Riggs. Preceded in death by his parents, wife the former Janet Marie Yingling who died October 16, 2010, brother S. William Riggs, and an infant granddaughter Alberta "A.J." Riggs. Survived by his sons: Daniel J. Riggs of Williamsburg, VA,; Aaron J. Riggs and wife Amanda, and Ryan E. Riggs all of Somerset; foster son Tim Mateljan and wife Kelly of Friedens; grandchildren: Delaney, Frances, Clara, Cecilia, Cole, Anna, Nolan, Natalie, Sidney, Jack, Abigail, Alexis, Rylan, Brenna, Garrett, and Riley, 3 great-grandchildren, and close friend and companion Laura Dupre of Seven Springs. Dan was a 1970 graduate of Somerset High School, and a graduate of UPJ, he was president of Somerset Steel Erection, and Lincoln Contracting. Dan was a member of Horner-Hoffman Lutheran Church, he was a member and past board member of the Somerset Country Club, he was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, and enjoyed golfing and fishing. Friends received 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Zion-Hoffman Lutheran Church Friedens, PA, with Vicar Regina Holiday officiating.
