Dale Patrick "Skip" Miller, 72, of Somerset, died October 6, 2020 at Somerset Hospital. Born October 21, 1947 in Somerset, he is the son of Dwight Dale and Marian Violet (Ross) Miller. Preceded in death by his parents, grandsons Jacob and Aaron Barta, and half brother and sister; Lloyd E-Von Sarver, and Vee Ann Knupp. Survived by his wife the former Sandra Ross to whom he was married 53 years, children: Tonya Barta of Washington, PA, and MGySgt Dallas Miller USMC and wife the former Heather Hottle of Jacksonville, NC, and grandchildren: Andrew Barta, Elias, Maggie, and Augustus Miller. Skip was a 1965 graduate of Berlin High School, and continuing the proud and honorable tradition of his family, Skip was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a life-long member of the VFW and American Legion. He was an avid hunter, angler, gardener, and knife enthusiast. He also passionately enjoyed woodworking and reading books and magazines. Skip dutifully worked at the Saylor Motor Co, Trucks of Somerset, PNC Bank, and Geochemical Testing throughout his life. He worked diligently every day of his life to care and provide for his family. Skip will always be remembered by his loved ones as a wise mentor and caring husband, father, and friend. Friends received 9-11 a.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Arthur Gotjen officiating.
