David Dickey Obituary

David Steele Dickey, 83, of Somerset, died October 10, 2022 at Siemon's Lakeview Manor. Born March 28, 1939 in Chicago, IL, he is the son of Reverend Samuel "Boyd" and Francine Barbara (Berg) Dickey. Preceded in death by his parents, and brother Bruce Berg Dickey, and nephew Sam Dickey. Survived by his wife Rebecca Berman-Dickey. brother Reverend John Boyd Dickey of Pittsburgh, and sister-in-law Judith Dickey of Yakima, WA, loving niece, Jennifer Ludwig and husband Robert of Seattle, WA, and grandniece Emily, loving nephew David Dickey and wife Ashley, and grandnephew Maddox, and grandniece Zoey, loving neice Christine Dickey-Hinchey and husband Joe, and nephew Jackson and twin grandnieces Camille and Sydney, all of Pittsburgh. Also survived by loving step-sons Jonathan H.L. Berman, David J.F. Berman and wife Cynthia all of Somerset, and Joshua A. Berman, of Taos, NM, and was a loving "Papa Dave" to nine step-grandchildren Micah, Joseph, Daniel (Kate), Andrew, Anna, Mary Rose Cook (Haydon), Chloe, Levi and Asher, and step-great-grandson Carter; many cousins and friends, all of whom spent many happy moments at the Clovernook Farm in Brotherton/Berlin together. David was a 1957 graduate of Kennard-Dale High School, he received his B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1961, J.D., from the University of Pennsylvania in 1964, he was admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in 1965, admitted to the bar of the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Pennsylvania, Commissioned Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General in 1965, Former Associate Counsel, United States Security and Exchange Commission, Formerly practiced law at the firm of Roland & Schlegel in Reading, PA, and private practice in Greencastle, and in Berlin, PA with the firm of Bell & Dickey. David was a 50 year member of the Pennsylvania Bar Assocociation, a former board member and officer of the Reading Symphony, and was also a member of Meyersdale Lodge 554 F&AM, Scottish Rite A.A.S.R., Valley of Harrisburg, Berlin Lions Club, and former secretary of the Berlin Sportsman Association Inc. The family would like to extend their thanks to the caring doctors and nurses at Somerset Hospital, and the hospice nurses at Siemon's. No viewing or visitation, a private service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.
