Donald Eugene Walker, 81, of Rockwood, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 21, 2024 at his home. Born March 28, 1943 in Stonycreek Township, he is the son of Perry Shaffer and Theresa (Miller) Walker. Preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Clarence, Dorothy Dougherty, Robert, Herbert, Elby, Fred, Mabel Revello, Calvin, and Ruth Williams. Survived by his wife the former Karen Swarner to whom he was married 47 years, daughters Amanda Jo Shaffer and husband Adam and Rebekah Anne Marietta and husband Charles, grandchildren Levi Marietta, Luke Shaffer, Autumn and Payton Marietta, and step-grandchildren Tori and Will Shaffer, sister Janet Anderson and brother Richard Walker. Donald was a 1961 graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High School, he was a successful dairy farmer all of his life until his retirement. He also enjoyed many barn cats over the years, and enjoyed reading farming magazines and books about tractors. Donald enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, listening to the Gaither gospel hour and game show network. He attended Laurel Mountain Chapel for many years with his family. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by his family as a faithful follower of Christ, and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday with Reverend Don Judy officiating.
