Doris Yoder Obituary

Doris Marjorie Yoder, 92, of Seven Fields, PA formerly of Rockwood, died March 4, 2020 at Paramont Senior Living at Cranberry. Born July 13, 1927 in Rockwood, She is the daughter of Lemon K. and Wilma (Bowman) Kaufman. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Arden L. Yoder who died October 7, 2008, and brothers Donald, William, Harold and Charles Kaufman. Survived by her children; Richard Yoder married to the former Kelly Walker of Lusby, MD, and Sharon Sippel and husband Douglas of Sewickley, grandchildren; Michelle and Rebecca Yoder and Spencer, Tyler and Ella Sippel, and brothers; Fred Kaufman of Rockwood and Ray Kaufman of Chambersburg. Doris was a graduate of Rockwood High School Class of 1945 and was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, she was a graduate of the Conemaugh School of Nursing, and received her B.S. and M.Ed in elementary education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She worked in Rockwood, Turkeyfood and Westmont School Districts as well as Somerset Community Hospital and Somerset State Hospital. Doris was a charter member of LCW. Missionary Society, PA Nurses Assn. and PSEA. She was very involved in welfare and helping children, she also enjoyed music and playing the piano and organ. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with Reverend D. Wayne LaSure officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.
