Edgar Marker Obituary

Edgar Allen Marker, 86, of Somerset, died August 8, 2018 at Siemon's Lakeview Manor.  Born September 3, 1931 in Garrett, he is the son of Wilmer Grant and Cora Estella (Spaugy) Marker.  Preceded in death by his parents, brothers; John, Wilmer Jr., and Gordon Marker, sisters; Ethel Witt, and Glenda Weimer.  Survived by his wife the former Connie Lee Phillips to whom he was married 13 years, children; Vicki West of Chambersburg, Gary Marker (David Blough) of Rockwood, Paul Marker (Amanda Stauffer) of  Somerset, Samuel Marker (Jennifer Younkin) of Markleton, step-children; Sheldon Wisor (Cindy Bailor) of Houtzdale, Shawn Wisor of Johnstown, and Mark Wisor (Jessica Swoope) of Madera, also 12 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, sister Betty "Etta" Custer and husband Dale of Berlin, and brother Lawrence Marker and wife Rose of Garrett.  Edgar was a US Army Veteran of Korea, he worked as a truck driver for Cooper-Jarrett, Mayfair Creamery, and H. Gribble Trucking, where he retired.  He was also a member of Brothersvalley Church of the Brethren, American Legion Post 181, and the Over the Hill Gang.  Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday with Reverend Gary Green officiating. Interment Highland Cemetery, Garrett.  Military graveside rites accorded by the Somerset County Honor Guard. Contributions may be made to Somerset County Honor Guard 139 W.
