Eileen Rae Baker, 77, of Markleton, died August 20, 2024 at her home. She is the the daughter of Reid E. and Lola F. (Barkman) Whipkey. Preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Mildred Whipkey, sister Carole Hoffman, and step-sisters Patricia Chalfant, and Peggy Striner. Survived by her husband Dale Baker to whom she was married 59 years, children Shawn Baker and wife Susan of Markleton, Robin Ansell and husband Mark of Rockwood, grandchildren Scott Baker, Mason Ansell and fiance Amanda Kauffman, Jennifer Ansell and fiance Michael Blair, and Megan Ansell (Jonathan Pressley) great-granddaughters Harper and Gabriella, sisters Miriam Schrock, Maxine Temple, Lois Sembower and husband Robert Jr., brother Blair Whipkey and wife Rena, step-brothers and sisters Robert Cane and wife Phyllis, Richard Cane and wife Beth, Cindy Baker and husband Darwin, Carol Gowarty and husband Chris, Rusty Cane and wife Jody, and Ruthie Will and husband Paul. Eileen was a 1965 graduate of Rockwood High School, she worked as an administrative assistant for Somerset Hospital, and later for Rockwood School District, and IU8. She attended Old Bethel Church, she enjoyed going to gospel sings, camping, taking pictures, she loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Old Bethel Church, Markleton, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Duane Riddle officiating.
