Elda Arbuta Phillippi, 93, of Somerset, died April 5, 2022 at Siemon's Lakeview Manor, Somerset. Born May 29, 1928 in Somerset, she is the daughter of Russell W. and Viola Lucetta (Workman) Menser. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Ernest Phillippi who died July 8, 2004, sons-in-law Randolph Rush, and Marc Lechevalier, and brothers; Leo, Dana, Eugene, and James, Menser. Survived by children: Arbuta E. Dill and husband Daniel of Jerome, Holly J. Gaskell and husband David of Berlin, Robin Lechevalier of Somerset, Kevin R. Phillippi and wife Christine of Calimesa, CA, and Julie Rush of Cairnbrook, grandchildren: Erin, Adam, and Janelle Dill, Peter and Paul Lechevalier, Mark, Andrew, and Adam Phillippi, Benjamin, Nathan, and Joshua Rush, great-grandchildren: Rowan, Stryker, Quinn, and Charlie. Elda was a 1946 graduate of Somerset High School, she was an accomplished pianist that started at an early age studying with an Austrian pianist, which led her to teaching piano and being a church pianist. She was a member of Reading Grace Brethren Church, and Somerset Music Club, she was a seamstress, and was devoted to praying and writing to missionaries. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Siemon's Lakeview Manor for their compassionate and devoted care to Elda. Friends received 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverends Larry Weigle and Terry Reese officiating. Interment St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Reading Grace Brethren Church 3449 Stoystown Rd. Stoystown, PA 15563.
