Eugene Joseph Balog, 62, of Somerset, died March 3, 2021 at his home. Born February 25,1959 in Johnstown, he is the son of Geza F. and Joan M. (Gall) Balog. Preceded in death by his father. Survived by his mother of Virginia Beach, VA, his fiance Loretta Tannehill of Somerset, children; Danielle Alexis Balog of California, and Dalton James Balog of Oregon, grandson Oliver Valenzuela, also survived by his brother and sisters; Kevin Balog of Johnstown, Sharon Balog of Chesapeake, VA, and Mary Anne Soto and husband Ralph of Lemon Grove, CA, also niece Hollie Balog of Johnstown and nephew Kevin M. Raad of Chesapeake, VA. Eugene was a graduate of Johnstown Vo-Tech, he had been working as a custodian for Maple Ridge Elementary, he was also a member of Somerset Church of the Brethren. Friends received 10-11 a.m. Tuesday March 16th, at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Ronald Barto officiating. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Rockwood. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Somerset PTA where they are going to have some memorial benches made in Eugene's name.
