George Ephriam Gerhardt

George Ephriam Gerhardt Jr. 82, of Friedens, died September 4, 2021 at his home. Born September 26, 1938 in Somerset, he is the son of George Ephriam and Helen Marie (Faidley) Gerhardt Sr. Preceded in death by his parents, wife the former Ona Marie Caton who died July 12, 2014, son Michael D. Gerhardt, son-in-law Edward Berkebile, sister Janet L. Gnagey, and brother Douglas. K. Gerhardt. Survived by his children: Lisa A. Berkebile of Friedens, and Christopher J. Gerhardt married to the former Joanna Rispaud of Servern, MD, daughter-in-law Brenda Gerhardt all of Somerset, grandchildren; Logan and Megan Gerhardt, Benjamin Berkebile, Douglas Berkebile and wife Lindsey, Colten Berkebile, Carter and Cary Gerhardt, great-grandchildren; Jenna and Jaxon Berkebile, and brother Roger W. Gerhardt. George was a graduate of Somerset High School, he was a US Army Veteran, and worked until his retirement as a trooper for the Pennsylvania State Police Department. He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Lodge 358 F& AM, Fraternal Order of Police, Retired State Police Association of PA, and was an avid collector. No viewing or visitation, a private service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.
