George William Schenck, 88, of Somerset, died May 7, 2025 at The Patriot. Born August 5, 1936 in Somerset, he is the son of George William and Mary Catherine Schenck Sr. Preceded in death by his parents, wife the former Dona Kay O'Neal who died October 3, 2000, grandson Jonas Schenck, and sister Minerva Lebo. Survived by his sons Jon F. Schenck and girlfriend Denise Robinson of Hedgesville, WV, and Craig O. Schenck and wife Christie of Somerset, grandchildren Elizabeth and Cooper, and great-grandchildren Elijah, Demi, Naomi, Eden, and Jonnah, and sister Devyenna Younkin. George was a graduate of Mercersburg Academy, and had worked until his retirement as owner/operator of George W. Schenck Company. He was a founding member of the Somerset Jaycee's, and was a past member of Somerset Borough Council, Somerset Planning Commission, and enjoyed golfing. No viewing or visitation a private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment Husband Cemetery.
