Georgia E. Dirienzo

Georgia Elaine Dirienzo, 73, of Somerset, died October 31, 2022 at her home. Born September 15, 1949 in Connellsville, she is the daughter of the late Helen Dacota (Nicholson) Dawson-Kaylor and step father Robert Dawson. She is also preceded in death by her daughter Mary Catherine Dirienzo. Survived by her husband Joseph Gerald Dirienzo to whom she was married 50 years, son Joseph R. Dirienzo and wife Tammi of Somerset, and Christina Geho and husband Brian of Hunker, grandchildren: Josi, Kali, Brendon and Brock, also brother Robert Dawson Jr. of Connellsville, Catherine Sullivan and husband Edwin of Kittery, ME, Rachelle Hughes and husband Keith, and Candace Hudacek and husband Martin all of Dunbar. Georgia was a 1967 graduate of Connellsville High School, and Somerset Practical Nursing. She worked until her retirement as a LPN for Somerset Oncology. Georgia was a very active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, she enjoyed baking, gardening, doing crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her cookies and cakes. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, a funeral mass will be conducted at 10 a.m,. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset, with Father Angelo Patti Celebrant. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.
