Harold Wilford Berkey, 97, of Somerset, died April 5, 2023 at The Patriot. Born January 23, 1926 in Edie, he is the son of Samuel Milton and Valeria Ann (Miller) Berkey. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Cloyd, Telford, Charles, and Levi Berkey, sisters: Mary Berkey, Margaret Shaffer, Irene Barnett, and Anna Maurer. Harold was a 1943 graduate of Somerset High School, and US Army Korean War Veteran. He worked as a farmer, then as a self employed milk hauler, and later worked in the maintenance department for Shaffer Block. Harold was a member of American Legion, Somerset Sportsman's Association, he enjoyed hunting, flying, and flew six trips to Alaska. Friends received 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend J. Matthew Deal officiating.
